TORONTO (May 6, 2025) – The grind before the glory returns this summer as Canada Basketball and Sportsnet confirm the return of GLOBL JAM, the international Under-23 basketball showcase, from August 13–17, 2025 at Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Centre.

Featuring some of the world's best emerging talent, GLOBL JAM will see top men's and women's national teams go head-to-head in a four-day 5-on-5 tournament, with all games broadcast nationally on Sportsnet platforms.

This year's field includes:

  • Women's Tournament: Canada, United States, Brazil, and Puerto Rico
  • Men's Tournament: Canada, United States, Brazil, and Japan

The tournament format includes round-robin play followed by bronze and gold medal games on Championship Sunday as Canada Basketball welcomes the world to Toronto for the third edition of GLOBL JAM.

GLOBL JAM is more than a tournament — it’s a proving ground. A stage for rising stars who’ve sacrificed, trained, and pushed through the hardest moments for a shot at international greatness. Past editions have featured future NBA and WNBA standouts including Aaliyah Edwards, Yvonne Ejim, and Leonard Miller, reinforcing the tournament’s growing reputation as a global launchpad.

“GLOBL JAM continues to redefine what’s possible for international basketball on Canadian soil,” said Michael Bartlett, President & CEO of Canada Basketball.  “It’s not just a tournament — it’s a launchpad for the next generation of global stars and a rare chance for our hometown heroes to play on home soil. We’re proud to once again host this premiere event in Toronto and showcase the future of the game, right here at home.”

With international rivalries, passionate fans, and a high-energy atmosphere in one of the game’s most vibrant cities, GLOBL JAM delivers elite basketball in an environment where culture meets the court.

This year’s GLOBL JAM is made possible in part through the generous support of the Government of Ontario. Their continued investment in major sporting events helps drive tourism, boost local economies, and create opportunities for young athletes to shine on the international stage.

“Our government is proud to support GLOBL JAM as it returns to Toronto this summer,” said Neil Lumsden, Ontario’s Minister of Sport. “Events like this help show that Canada is home to many of the best athletes in the world, inspire the next generation of players and fans across the country, while boosting domestic tourism through sport at this crucial time.”
