Cassandra Brown (Vernon, British Columbia) Senior Guard/Forward – Portland Pilots

The senior from Vernon ended her regular season college career with a bang. Against Brigham Young and San Diego, Brown managed to average 17.0 PPG, 6.5 RPG and 1.5 BPG with an 86% 3-point shooting percentage. Her best game of the week was against San Diego where she netted 15 points to go along with 8 rebounds, 3 blocks and a 75% shooting percentage from downtown. Portland and Cassandra try to salvage the season as they go into the WCC Championships tomorrow night in Las Vegas.

Jamie Weisner (Clarkson, Washington) Junior Guard – Oregon State Beavers

Jamie Weisner and the Beavers finished as Pac-12 regular season Champions this past week after beating California. The Beavers went 1-1 on the week (losing to Stanford), but Jamie played well. Throughout the week, Jamie averaged 14.5 PPG together with 4.5 RPG and a 50% shooting percentage from behind the arc. Jamie shined against Stanford when she scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds while shooting 57% from 3 point land. After clinching the Pac-12 regular season title, the Beavers and Jamie hope to win the Pac-12 tournament in Jamie’s home-state, Seattle, Washington.

Nirra Fields (Montreal, Quebec) Junior Guard – UCLA Bruins

The junior guard, Nirra, had a solid week for the Bruins this past week. Against Pac-12 competition, Washington State and Washington, Nirra averaged 14.0 PPG, 2.0 SPG and 1.5 BPG to go along with a 52% field-goal percentage. While UCLA split their games this week, Nirra performed best against Washington State when she scored 14 points, snagged 5 rebounds, swatted 3 blocks and nabbed 2 steals in a 74-69 victory. UCLA and Nirra have their first game against Arizona on Thursday night in the Pac-12 Championships.

Trey Lyles (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) Freshman Forward – Kentucky Wildcats

On an undefeated Kentucky team, the 6’10 freshman out of Saskatoon won the SEC Freshman of the Week as Kentucky beat Mississippi State, Arkansas and Georgia. Throughout the past week Trey averaged 18.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 1.5 APG while shooting 68% from the field. His best game of the week was against Mississippi State when he scored 18 points with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, a block and a steal to go along with a 100% free throw percentage. After a tough win against Georgia last night, the Wildcats hope to continue making history by having an undefeated season. They go up against the Florida Gators on Saturday in Lexington.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes (Scarborough, Ontario) Freshman Guard – Florida State Seminoles

Xavier scored 30 points in the final four and a half minutes against Miami? Yes, that is not a typo. The Phenom freshman had a stellar week for the Seminoles as he averaged 23.5 PPG together with 3.5 APG, 3.5 RPG and 1.0 SPG. The highlight of Xavier’s young career came this week against the Miami Hurricanes when he scored a total of 35 points – 30 of those points coming in the final four and a half minutes of the game. He also dished out 5 assists, grabbed 4 rebounds and shot 81% from the free throw line. The Seminoles hope to finish the season above .500 when they go up against Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Olivier Hanlan (Aylmer, Quebec) Junior Shooting Guard – Boston College Eagles

The Aylmer native, Olivier, has shot lights out over these past few weeks and this week was no different. Through two games against North Carolina State and Virginia Tech, Olivier put up solid number – 19.5 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 2.0 APG and a 92% free throw percentage. He shined the brightest against North Carolina State when he scored 24 points together with 8 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a 64% shooting percentage. Olivier and the Eagles hope to ride off their two-game mini winning streak and finish the season strong against Pittsburgh on Saturday.
