Cassandra Brown (Vernon, British Columbia) Senior Guard/Forward – Portland Pilots

Cassandra Brown ended her fantastic college career with the Pilots this past week in Las Vegas at the WCC Tournament. In the Pilots’ only game of the tournament against Santa Clara, Cassandra had a nice game of 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 block. During her senior year, Cassandra grew as a player, person and leader on the court by leading her team in scoring (17.8 PPG), rebounds (6.4 RPG) and free throw percentage (88%).

Nirra Fields (Montreal, Quebec) Junior Guard – UCLA Bruins

The Montreal native had a stellar week in the Pac-12 Tournament this past week. The Bruins went 1-1 in the tournament (beating Arizona and losing to Stanford), but Nirra managed to be a bright spot. Throughout the week she averaged 14.5 PPG and 3.5 RPG while shooting 45% from the field. Her best game of the week was against Arizona when she scored 21 points to go along with 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a block in an 80-62 victory for the Bruins. Nirra hopes to build off her promising junior year and become a senior superstar next year.

Ruth Hamblin (Houston, British Columbia) Junior Center – Oregon State Beavers

Ruth has been extremely dynamic in the paint. Her presence in the post has been felt all season and this week continued the trend. In a tough loss to Colorado in the Pac-12 Tournament, Ruth managed to play well by scoring 14 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, swatting 4 blocks and shooting 70% from the field. The junior center hopes to continue her solid play into the NCAA tournament next week where she and the Beavers look to make a statement and earn a spot in the Final Four in Tampa Bay.

Olivier Hanlan (Aylmer, Quebec) Junior Shooting Guard – Boston College Eagles

After earning All-ACC First Team honors, Olivier had himself a fantastic week by leading the Eagles to three consecutive wins against Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech. Throughout the week Olivier averaged excellent numbers of 19.7 PPG, 6.0 RPG and 4.7 APG together with an 81% free throw percentage. Olivier best game of the week came against Georgia Tech when he netted 25 points, corralled 8 rebounds, dished out 5 assists and shot 100% from the free throw line in a tight 66-65 victory in the first round of the ACC Tournament. Olivier and the Eagles hope to ride off their momentum and potentially sneak into the NCAA Tournament next week.

Kyle Wiltjer (Portland, Oregon) Junior Forward – Gonzaga Bulldogs

Kyle had a strong week for the WCC Champions, Gonzaga Bulldogs. Throughout the WCC Tournament this week, Kyle averaged a near double-double of 18.0 PPG and 9.0 RPG while shooting 59% from the field through three games against San Francisco, Pepperdine and Brigham Young. Kyle shined the brightest against Brigham Young in the WCC Championship when he earned a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds together with a perfect three-point shooting percentage. Gonzaga and Kyle look to make their mark on the NCAA Tournament this year and get to the Final Four in Indianapolis.

Xavier Rathan-Mayes (Scarborough, Ontario) Freshman Guard – Florida State Seminoles

Scarborough’s finest has played fine all year for the Seminoles – earning All-ACC First Team Honorable Mention recognition. This week he continued his strong play against Pittsburgh in the ACC Tournament when he scored 19 points together with 5 assists, 4 rebounds and a 63% shooting percentage. Xavier and the Seminoles hope to continue their good play throughout the ACC Tournament and earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament next week.
